Dr. Ramesh Basavappa, MBBS, MD, DM, is a Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Cardiology at Apollo Hospitals, Bannerghatta, Bengaluru. He is also the coordinator for DNB Program at Apollo Hospitals, Bengaluru.

Dr. Ramesh Basavappa completed his MBBS from JJM Medical College, Davanagere, Mysore University, and MD in General Medicine from JN Medical College, Belgaum, Karnataka University. Dr. Ramesh Basavappa obtained his DM in Cardiology from SJICR, Bengaluru.

Work Experience

Before joining the Apollo Hospitals, Bengaluru, as a Senior Consultant of Cardiology and taking over HOD of Cardiology and Coordinator for the DNB Program, Dr. Ramesh Basavappa, in various capacities. Also an academician and serves as a Professor of Cardiology at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, Bengaluru.

Dr. Ramesh Basavappa is associated with various organizations that work in cardiology. He served as Secretary and President for the CSI Chapter, Bengaluru and as an Organizing Secretary for State CSI Conference in 2004. Dr. Ramesh Basavappa was also the Organizing Secretary for National Conference of Indian Society of Echocardiography in 2004 and 2006.
