In a powerful display of solidarity and support, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre (APCC), Apollo Cancer Centres (ACC) and Apollo Shine hosted the third edition of the ‘Winners on Wheels’ Cyclothon. The event was aimed at raising awareness about sarcoma and inspire hope for improved quality of life after treatment. Sarcoma, a rare and often misunderstood cancer, predominantly affects children. By bringing cancer survivors, healthcare professionals and cycling enthusiasts together, the Cyclathon celebrated the indomitable human spirit and highlighted the importance of awareness and support for sarcoma.

The event flagged-off by the Hon’ble Thiru Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Minister for School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu and Mr. Harshad Reddy, Director of Group Oncology & International at Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited (AHEL), attracted an enthusiastic crowd of over 200 participants. Among them were sarcoma survivors, school students, doctors and medical staff, all united in their endeavor to dispel cancer myths and honour the unbreakable human spirit.

The Hon’ble Thiru Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Minister for School Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, while expressing his admiration for this social cause initiative, commented “I applaud the Apollo team for their tireless efforts in raising awareness about Sarcoma through the ‘Winners on Wheels’ Cyclathon. This event embodies the spirit of tenacity and hope that personifies our State. By supporting cancer winners and their families, we can create a ripple effect of positivity and empowerment. I pledge my support to this noble cause and encourage everyone to join hands in the fight against cancer.”

Speaking at the event, Mr. Harshad Reddy, Director Group Oncology & International, AHEL, emphasized, “Winners on Wheels is more than just a cyclathon – it’s a symbol of hope and triumph over cancer. Witnessing the determination and resilience of the cancer survivors and the enthusiasm of the young participants was truly inspiring. We are on wheels busting myths and showcasing that life beyond cancer is possible. We are not just raising awareness, but also nurturing a sense of togetherness and empowerment.”
