American Heart Association Courses

The American Heart Association (AHA) trains healthcare providers, caregivers and general public, in responding to emergencies through their Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) training programs. These include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification programs. BLS, ACLS & PALS teach the correct techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Apollo Emergency remains committed to the training of healthcare providers and lay public, in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Courses conducted by Apollo Emergency which are certified by American Heart Association (AHA):

Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course

This course will help the participant acquire the knowledge and skill needed for fundamental patient evaluation and stabilization in the event of emergencies. They will be able to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. They will be able to understand the value of standard guidelines for resuscitation.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course

The duration of the ACLS Provider course is two days. Through the ACLS course, providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. ACLS emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPCR to patient survival; the integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions; and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.

ACLS is based on simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students will practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course

The PALS Provider Course is designed to provide participants with the information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, strategies to prevent arrest, and the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize those in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest
