Early Signs of Breast Cancer

  • Painless breast mass
  • Persistent breast pain
  • Nipple discharge
  • Inward turning of nipple
  • Skin tethering
  • Redness or scaling of the skin nipple
  • Distortion of breast

Most of the changes that occur in the breast are harmless but you should get all of them checked as there is a small chance that they could be the first sign of breast cancer.

Screening

Breast screening can show breast cancers at an early stage, when they are too small for you or your doctor to see or feel. Regular screenings make it possible to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages and can help save your life and your breast.

Screening Techniques

Breast self-examination must be practiced monthly from teenage onwards by all women. Clinical breast examination may be undertaken annually with one’s doctor.

Clinical breast examination should be undertaken annually with one’s doctor from 30 years of age.

Mammograms every 3 years from the age of 40.Mammographic screening is not effective in the early detection of breast cancer for women under 40 years of age.

No Touch Breast Scan

As the name suggests, No Touch Breast Scan is an entirely touch-less breast exam that does not incorporate any X-ray type radiation.

No Touch Breast Scan is the world’s first, CE approved, fully computerized dual-digital IR camera based screening technology. The exam takes less than 10 minutes and the computer generated report can instantly be made available to the physician.

Periodic thermography can be used as a valuable adjunct to breast screening for women of all ages, especially for

  • Women with positive family history
  • Women too young for annual mammographic screening
  • Women with dense breasts
  • Women seeking second opinion
