1/3rd of the general population develops a thyroid nodule i.e. an abnormal growth in the thyroid, which can be found on ultrasound.

Cancer can develop in the thyroid nodule. It is important that these nodules are evaluated by an expert team to assess whether the nodule may harbor cancer and whether any treatment is warranted.

Non-cancerous (Benign) nodules:
Most nodules (growths) in the thyroid gland are benign. Only if they are found to have certain features on ultrasound do they then warrant further investigation with a sample of tissue called an FNAC. Some benign nodules may require surgery.

Cancerous nodules:
These nodules have certain features that show them to be suspicious for cancer. These nodules then require surgery. We ensure that our patients have the best possible cancer treatment and cosmetic outcomes.

What is Parathyroid disease?
The parathyroid glands consist of four organs that are in close proximity to the thyroid gland. Patients with long standing kidney stone disease should be investigated for enlargement of the one or more of the parathyroid glands. Our center has vast experience with parathyroid disease and we work in close conjunction with our kidney specialists.
