Endometrial Cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the woman’s uterus. The uterus is the hollow, pear-shaped organ in women present in the pelvic area where fetal development occurs.
Endometrial cancer begins in the cells that line the inner layer (endometrium) of the uterus. Sometimes, it is also referred to as uterine cancer. It is also one of the most prominent cancer forms in the uterus.
The cancer is often detected at an early stage because of its obvious signs and symptoms like abnormal vaginal bleeding. Early discovery leads to the surgical removal of the uterus so that cancer doesn’t spread to other parts of the body.
If left untreated, it can spread to the bladder or rectum, or can also spread to the vagina, fallopian tubes, and ovaries.
