Medical Education at Apollo Hospitals
As envisioned by our Chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy we, at Apollo Hospitals group are committed to the achievement and maintenance of excellence in education and research for the benefit of humanity as we firmly subscribe to the belief that clinical services supported by Medical Education & research of the highest quality relevant to the needs of the country should be an integral part of the Apollo Hospitals.
The various programs being offered as part of post graduate medical education initiative at Apollo Hospitals group with the aim of developing competent human resources in the medical arena are described as here under.
It’s gratifying to note that Apollo group of Hospitals is offering PG Medical Education in modules covering the Primary care, Super specialties & Subspecialties including the Phd programme in Molecular Medicine.
Currently 14 hospitals in the group viz Apollo Hospitals located at Chennai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, Banglore, Mysore, Madurai, Pune, Ludhiana, Ranchiand Bilaspur are offering the DNB programme. The future plan includes starting the DNB program at Ahmedabad, Bhubaneshwar, Kakinada, Secunderabad Visakhapatnam and Bhilai by AY 2013. Currently 600 DNB trainees are pursuing the training programme in Apollo group of hospitals. Our aim is to continuously upgrade the infrastructure and strengthen the faculty in our hospitals to enable us to improve the quality of training. Besides the post graduate and post doctoral programmes offered by National Board of examinations, currently other post graduate diplomas & fellowship programmes are being offered in the Apollo group of hospitals accredited to the various Royal colleges in UK, Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh, The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Indian society of critical care Medicine, Indian association of Pathologists & Microbiologists, Medvarsity besides Indira Gandhi open university.

» Executive Diploma in General Management and Health Care
XLRI Jamshedpur and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., have jointly launched a one-year "Executive Diploma Programme in General Management and Health Care"
India is one of the largest health care markets in the world and the sector is well-poised to emerge as the employment engine of the future. According to recent studies, health care has the potential to create about 15-million additional jobs in the near term. Presently over 4-million people are employed, making health care one of the largest service sectors in our nation. Yet, the demand completely eclipses capacity.
Currently very few institutes offer specialized course for health care managers despite the rise in demand for trained and experienced professionals. Thus to address these issues the two premier institutions in Education and Health care Services - XLRI & Apollo Hospitals have come together and collaborated to offer programs for developing properly trained pool of health care leaders to design and deliver quality health care services in the rapidly changing environment. This program will help in creating management professionals with health care perspective and will offer ample career opportunities in health care sector either in a business role or a functional role.
About the course: Twenty eight courses will be taught into four terms in one year residential programme. The first three terms will have twenty three courses. Fourth term for electives, each term will consist of five to seven courses. Internship in term four. Total 750 contact hours.
Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline with three years of work experience after graduation. Eligible applicants will be subject to a process of written test and personal interview.
Admission: The application form to apply for the programme is available online at http://www.xlri.ac.in/icp. After online registration, candidates need to send the hard copy of application form to XLRI Jamshedpur. The last date for online registration is October 17, 2011. The completed application form along with DD of ` 1655 should reach XLRI by October 21, 2011.
This program is the first of its kind in India that leverages the strengths of two premier institutions to change the landscape of healthcare management forever.
